Welcome aboard Lt. Governors I am looking forward to meeting all of you at the Lt. Governor Training in Hood River at the Best Western on May 30 to June 1,
2008. If you haven’t registered be sure to do so right away.
I am giving you a little homework to have completed before you come to training.
1. Part of the training will be on Growth. This year, we are asking you to build a team before you arrive at training. The crucial team is 5 people, the remaining committee can be formed after your training. The 5 positions we are asking you to fill are: Master Club Builder, Club Builder, Club Counselor, Membership Growth/Kiwanis One Day, and Marketing & PR.
2. The PNW Strategic Plan - Please make yourself familiar with this document as we will be discussing strategic plans - don’t have to memorize it.
3. The PNW Bylaws - As you know, we live by this document. The link is included at the top of this page so you can have a look at it just to give you an idea. Again, you don’t have to study it - skim it if you like. You may have questions to bring up.
4. The Kiwanis International Strategic Plan - take a look at this and give it some thought. You will have opportunities to have some input during training. How will we meet our goals? How do they work into the plan? Maybe we need to suggest some changes to the strategic planning committee.
5. The Governor’s Challenge Awards - I spent my holiday in Mexico putting this paper together. I know we are not in Kiwanis for the awards as the real reward is the SMILE ON A CHILD’S FACE. However, a little incentive and acknowledgement by your peers never hurts everyone. I hope I have created some challenges that are appealing to you. They all fit into our goals.
